Ukraine threatens to counter attack soon

1 min read

The country’s top ground forces commander, Col. Gen. Oleksandr Cyraskyi, has threatened that Ukrainian troops will soon launch a long-awaited counteroffensive.

In a message on the messaging platform Telegram, Sirasky said, “In the long-running and bloody battle for Bakhmut, the group of Russian mercenaries is now trying to take control of Bakhmut. They also suffered heavy losses. Gradually, their attack intensity is also decreasing. We will take advantage of this opportunity very soon. Earlier we did the same in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Balaklia and Kupyansk.

Moscow did not respond to Ukraine’s comments on Bakhmut. But Vagnar chief Yevgeny Prigozhin recently spoke of fears of a counterattack from Ukraine. Last Monday, he wrote to the Russian Defense Minister and said that the Ukrainian army is trying to stop Bhagnar’s connection with the Russian army. If action is not taken quickly, the results will be disastrous.

Meanwhile, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin last week on charges of illegally moving children from the territories occupied by Russia to Russia in Ukraine.
