Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan is going to Islamabad from Lahore to attend the hearing of the corruption case known as ‘Tosakhana case’.
The hearing will be held in the Islamabad District and Sessions Judge’s Court on Saturday.
He is expected to reach Islamabad at noon local time today, Dawn media reported.
According to PTI sources, Imran Khan left for Islamabad from his ‘Zaman Park’ residence in Lahore along with party leaders and activists.
According to the report, strict security measures have been taken outside the court premises in Islamabad’s G-11 area. A large number of police have been deployed in the area to maintain order.
It also said that the government shifted the venue of the hearing of the case from the Additional Sessions Judge’s Court to a relatively more secure judicial complex on Friday as Imran Khan expressed concern about the security risk.
The case filed by the country’s Election Commission against Imran Khan is scheduled to be heard in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Judge Zafar Iqbal.
The case alleged that Imran Khan hid the accounts of the gifts he received while he was the prime minister.
