Ahead of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) election rally, the Punjab government has again issued Article 144 in Lahore on Sunday. The announcement was made on Saturday night. It is reported that the authorities were forced to take this decision to avoid untoward incidents. Dawn’s news.

With this, Section 144 was issued in Lahore for the second time in less than a week. Challenging this decision of the Punjab government, PTI approached the Election Commission on Sunday.

Imran’s election rally was scheduled to be held in Lahore yesterday. A caretaker government is currently in power in the province. Political parties have increased their activity with the provincial elections ahead. As part of this, Imran Khan’s party announced the PTI rally. As a result, there has been widespread criticism of the neutrality of the interim government in power in the province.

PTI has submitted an application to the Election Commission demanding the withdrawal of Article 144. Under the guidance of Imran, PTI leader Babar Awan has submitted this application to the Election Commission of Pakistan. The petition said that by promulgating Section 144, the Punjab government had violated Article 15 of the Supreme Court order.
