Ukraine is being destroyed by Russia’s attack. It will cost more than 40 billion dollars in the next 10 years to rebuild or restore this troubled country. This estimate has been revealed in a World Bank report. It will cost 5 billion dollars to remove the rubble of buildings from the destroyed city or area.
The report released on Wednesday (March 22) said the estimate should be considered a minimum. Because if the war continues, the cost will increase.
The World Bank used data from the Ukrainian government, the European Commission and the United States in estimating the damage. Earlier in September, the bank said in a report that the reconstruction of Ukraine will cost about 305 billion dollars.
The report also says that the war has damaged two million homes in Ukraine, destroyed more than one in five public health facilities, and destroyed 650 ambulances. Moreover, 9,655 civilians including 461 children were killed.
Anna Bjorde, the World Bank’s vice president for Europe and Central Asia, said on Wednesday that Ukraine’s reconstruction will take years.

Meanwhile, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has agreed to lend 15.6 billion dollars to Ukraine. This money will be given to deal with the economic crisis of the country.
Gavin Gray, head of the IMF mission in Ukraine, said the loan package aims to restore Kiev. Because most of the country was devastated by the Russian attack.
