Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought the support of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, United Arab Emirates and Nepal to host the Asia Cup at home.
India is reluctant to play the Asia Cup in Pakistan due to border issues. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it clear that they will not send a team to Pakistan.
India agree to play Asia Cup at neutral venue. If not, India wants the matches to be held at neutral venues in the UAE.
But PCB is trying its best to organize the Asia Cup in the country. For this reason, Pakistan wants the support of other Asian parties.
In this regard PCB Chairman Najam Shetty said, it is necessary to know the opinion of other members of ACC. But at the end of the day it is also important to keep in mind how much influence the Indian Cricket Board has on the cricket playing nations of Asia.
Nazam Shetty also said, I am in touch with other member countries of ACC. Told everyone about our problem. I hope everyone will consider the matter seriously and we will find a respectful solution.
Chairman of PCB said, I have spoken to many people. We have taken the opinion of our government. We have also taken legal advice on what position we can take in the cricket board meeting.
Earlier, PCB had threatened that if India does not go to Pakistan to play the Asia Cup, Pakistan will not send a team to India to play the World Cup.
Regarding the World Cup boycott, Najam Shetty said that he will inform the government about the decision of the Asian Cricket Council meeting. Then whatever is decided about the World Cup will be taken.
