Pakistan is ‘thinking about banning’ PTI

1 min read

The government is considering banning the party in the wake of the violence unleashed by his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) following the arrest of Imran Khan from the Islamabad High Court premises. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said so. No decision has been made yet, but the review is certainly underway.

He told this to mediapersons in Islamabad on Wednesday. Dawn’s news.

Asif said the PTI had challenged the very foundation of the state by ‘attacking several defense installations’ on May 9. Is there any crime that has not been committed on May 9? The ISI office was attacked, they tried to enter the cantonment in Sialkot but were repulsed, they set fire to the house of the Lahore Corps Commander. We all thought that India would do such a thing, not anyone inside Pakistan. He also commented that Imran sees the Pakistan army as an adversary.

Meanwhile PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been arrested again. Police arrested him within minutes of his release from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. Another PTI leader Musarat Jamshed Cheema was also arrested soon after his release.
