And in the first match of this series, Shakib Al Hasan became the second Bangladeshi member of the seven thousand club. Shakib played 216 innings in 228 matches to enter this club.

Shakib needed just 24 runs to reach the 7-thousand club before taking the field against Ireland. In the 20th over of the innings, Shakib reached this milestone of glory with 1 run off the fifth ball of Irish medium pacer Curtis Campher.

Earlier, only Tigers’ ODI captain Tamim Iqbal reached the seven-thousand club among Bangladeshi cricketers. Tamim played 214 innings in 235 matches as the first Bangladeshi to register for this club.

Meanwhile, Mushfiqur Rahim, another wicket-keeper batsman of the Tigers, is waiting to touch the milestone of seven thousand runs. He needs 55 runs to become a member of the seven thousand club in ODI cricket.

Mushfiqur made his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in Harare in 2006. Mushfiqur has played 227 innings in 242 matches for the country so far in ODIs. Among them, Mushfiq scored 43 half-centuries with 8 centuries, 6 thousand 945 runs at an average of 36.32.

Mushfiq is followed by another Pandava, Mahmudullah Riyad. He scored 4 thousand 950 runs in 190 innings. Apart from this, Mohammad Ashraful scored 3 thousand 468, Imrul Kayes 2 thousand 434, Shahriar Nafis 2 thousand 201, Habibul Bashar 2 thousand 168, Aftab Ahmed 1 thousand 954 and Liton Das scored 1 thousand 945.
