The team’s opener Rohit Sharma played an innings of 30 runs off 17 balls. Shubman Gill scored 37 runs. Kohli, who dropped to three, scored 54 runs for the team. KL Rahul played an innings of 32 runs at four. 40 runs from Hardik Pandya’s bat. But the next batters failed. Suryakumar made a golden duck streak in three consecutive games. Jadeja returned with 18 runs.
India collapsed on the spin of Adam Jumper. Auji leg spinner took 4 wickets for 45 runs in 10 overs. Another spinner Aston Agar picked up two wickets. For India, Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each and Mohammad Siraj and Akshar Patel took two wickets each. At this rate, India lost a series at home after exactly four years i.e. 2019. They also lost to Australia (5-match series 3-2).
