ICC Arrest Warrant Against Putin Justified: Biden

1 min read

US President Joe Biden claimed that the International Criminal Court’s arrest warrant against the President of Russia has committed clear war crimes in Ukraine.

Regarding the warrant, Biden told reporters on Friday, ‘It was not only recognized internationally, but a strong point was made.’

The ICC on Friday morning issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Children’s Rights Commissioner Elvova-Belova for their alleged involvement in Russia’s forced removal of Ukrainian children from occupied territory following the invasion of Ukraine.

However, Russia has termed the ICC’s arrest warrant as worthless. Because Russia is not a country covered by the ICC.
