1 min read

Chittagong: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun said that the former police officer’s contact with Arav Khan alias Rabiul Islam is being investigated.

After inaugurating the Enayet Bazar police outpost in the city on Monday (March 20) afternoon, he said this in response to a journalist’s question.

The IGP said that recently the matter of a former senior police officer has come to the fore in the Arav issue. We will look into it.

We will let you know in due course. Interpol was approached to issue a red notice against Aarav Khan. I found out a while ago that Interpol has worked on the matter.

Discussions started mainly after a bunch of stars from Bangladesh went to Dubai to inaugurate Arav’s gold shop. That’s when this Arav accused of killing a police inspector Mamun Emran in Dhaka on July 7, 2018 came to the fore. Later, Detective Police (DB) chief Haroon Or Rashid told reporters that the court has 12 warrants against the controversial gold trader Arav Khan.

Several media outlets using police sources have reported that Aarav Khan, who became a millionaire in a short time, has links with top criminals, models, former police officers and businessmen in the country’s criminal world. Meanwhile, the name of the former director general (DG) Benazir of RAB was discussed on Friday (March 17) night in Deutsche Welle’s ‘Khaled Muhyuddin wants to know’ talk show. Soon after, Benazir posted on her verified Facebook ID on Saturday, saying that she did not know Aarav.
