Fire in Gulshan, the identity of the deceased has been found

Dhaka: The identity of the youth who jumped to his death after a fire broke out on the seventh floor of a 12-storey building in Shahjadpur area under Gulshan police station of the capital has been found.

His name is Anwar (30).

Relatives claim that he used to work in a house on the 12th floor of that building.

On Sunday (February 19) around 1 o’clock in the night, Anwar’s body was identified in the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital by his younger brother Md. Zulhus.

He said that fire broke out on the seventh floor of the 12-storey building of Road No. 104 of Gulshan-2 at around 7 pm. As far as I know, his brother died after jumping from the building after the fire.

The deceased Anwar is the son of Nurul Islam of Daulatkhan upazila of Bhola district.

Dhaka Medical Police Camp Incharge (Inspector) Bachchu Mia said that one person’s body was in the morgue in the fire in Gulshan. His younger brother came and identified the body.

19 units of fire service with 114 manpower managed to put out the fire in four hours. 22 people were rescued alive.
