Pakistan’s star cricketer Babar Azam has surpassed the legendary West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle by collecting 9000 runs in just 245 innings in T20Is.

Babar Azam-led Peshawar Zalmi face Islamabad United in a Pakistan Super League (PSL) eliminator match in Lahore on Thursday. Babar played an innings of 64 runs with the help of 10 boundaries off 39 balls. Peshawar scored 183 runs in his batting order.

Chasing the target, Islamabad could score 171 runs for 6 wickets with Shoaib Maqsood’s innings of 60 runs off 48 balls. Nay Peshawar qualified for the second eliminator by winning by 12 runs.

Babar Azmara will face Lahore Qalandars today on Friday. If they win today, Peshawar can play the final against Multan Sultans tomorrow.

Babar Azam overtook Caribbean legend Chris Gayle with a blistering innings of 64 off 39 balls on Thursday. He touched the milestone of 9000 runs in 249 innings in T20. Babar played 245 innings to make this record.
