A prominent US Catholic priest has converted to Islam. The priest named Hilarion Hegi changed his name to Syed Abdul Latif after accepting Islam.
London-based media Middle East Monitor reported this information in a report on Sunday (February 26).
It is reported that the US-based Catholic priest recently announced his conversion to Islam in his blog post. The priest, who lives in California, was formerly a Russian Orthodox. Around 2003, he joined the Antiochian Orthodox Church.
Hilarion Hagee described his decision as a ‘return to Islam’. It is like a homecoming for him.
In a blog post, Hilarion Hagee noted that he had been attracted to Islam for a long time. After decades of observation, he finally decided to convert to Islam.
